  • Browser re-encoding is a practical cleanup method, not a forensic guarantee for every proprietary image structure.
  • JPG export is lossy and may slightly change pixels even at a high quality setting.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Your browser decodes and re-encodes the image locally. The source and clean copy are never sent to Tool Packer.

What metadata is removed?

The clean copy is written from decoded pixels rather than copied from the source file, so source-container EXIF, location, camera, comment, and similar embedded metadata are not carried into it.

Does this remove visible watermarks?

No. Watermarks, captions, faces, license plates, and other information visible in the pixels remain part of the image.

Will the file size always decrease?

No. Re-encoding can make a file smaller or larger depending on its original compression and the selected quality. The tool reports both sizes before download.
