Know before you start

Important limitations

  • Enlarging a small raster image adds interpolated pixels but cannot create missing detail.
  • Unlocking the aspect ratio can visibly stretch or squash the subject.
  • PNG preserves transparency where the operation allows it, but photographic files can be larger than JPG or WebP.

Common questions

Resize PNG FAQ

Does Resize PNG upload my image?

No. Decoding, canvas processing, previewing, and export happen in the current browser session.

Does the downloaded file replace the original?

No. The tool creates a separate download; the source file on your device is not modified.

Will metadata remain in the result?

Canvas export normally omits camera EXIF and most ancillary metadata. Keep the original if those records matter.
