Know before you start

Important limitations

  • No automatic public, bank, market, school, or company holiday calendar is included; only custom holiday dates entered by the user are excluded.
  • Weekend patterns are fixed selections and do not model half-days, rotating schedules, emergency closures, cutoff times, or working-hour durations.
  • Boundary controls apply only when counting between dates; add or subtract mode always treats the start date as day zero.
  • A custom holiday that falls on a configured weekend is categorized only as a weekend exclusion; enter an observed weekday separately when required.
  • Ranges are limited to 100 years, shifts to 10,000 business days, custom holiday input to 500 entries, and supported calendar years to 0001 through 9999.
  • Results are planning aids and should not replace an official legal, court, banking, benefits, shipping, or employer calendar.

Business Days Calculator FAQ

Are the start and end dates included?

In Count between dates mode, each boundary has its own checkbox and is included by default. A selected boundary counts only when it is not a configured weekend or custom holiday.

Does the calculator know public holidays automatically?

No. Holiday calendars vary by country, region, employer, exchange, and year. Enter every holiday or closure that should be excluded from your calculation.

What if a holiday falls on a weekend?

It is excluded once as a weekend date rather than counted in both categories. Enter an observed weekday separately when that is the date your organization closes.

Is the start date counted when adding business days?

No. The start date is day zero. Adding or subtracting begins with the next or previous calendar date and skips configured weekends and entered holidays.

Are dates or holiday lists uploaded?

No. Date validation, UTC calendar arithmetic, formatting, and copying happen locally in the current browser.
